The essence of the «duende» phenomenon in flamenco dance from the perspective of Russian performers

The given article presents analyses of a «duende» phenomenon, an integral part of flamenco dance from the perspective of non-bearers of flamenco culture. It is understood as a condition of the highest spiritual and emotional uplift of a performer while dancing. The author suggests a concept of «duende» which consists of five components such as: creative imagination, inspiration, emotional give back, improvisation and trance. Besides, the article presents the findings of the social research conducted by the author among flamenco dance performers of Vladivostok. The outcomes demonstrated in the tables reveal different aspects of «duende», as it is understood by Russian performers.
